I know you’re exhausted. Bushfires, COVID, personal tragedies and now we’re being confronted with an ancient fight for equality that is rumbling like a volcano on the brink of explosion. As it should. A fight so deeply rooted in human history, the history of the soil we live on and of our close neighbours in PNG, a hurt so unimaginable- yet one that has been so cleverly shielded from us, like we’re wearing a vail of shiny new things, new bedding, new gadgets, of goal weights and photos of holiday destinations. I know you’re tired, but this is the ONLY way. Without equality we cannot come together to save the planet. Without equality we are missing the ideas and opinions and creations of those who we aren’t giving the stage to. Without equality those who are living without, are disproportionately more effected by disease and natural disasters. Look into your heart, hopefully you can find raw, pure, kindness. Through any feelings of guilt or sadness or anger, do something today, actively take one step every day towards being anti-racist. Because as soon as we come together as the human race, love wins. Without love, what are we here for?
